My dear mum Elma left my house on that Tuesday winter night with a bad cough and having trouble breathing. Little did i know when she left that night that she would never return. By the time the ambulance got her to the hospital she was fighting for her life. We spent the next 6 days in intensive care with her as she fought pneumonia and finally on the morning of Monday 7th February the doctors told me that she had had a brain haemorrage during the night and therefore i was advised to turn her support machine off. Finally i plugged up the courage to give the go ahead for the machine to be switched off and with her loving big sister Heather and little brother James, unoffically adopted daughter Patricia and myself by her bedside she slept away. I thought after burying my baby daughter 4 years previous that nothing could hurt me as much as that, but how wrong i was. I miss my mum more and more every day. The only thing that gives me comfort is that i know that she has gone to look after my precious little Amy. Until we all meet again xxxxx
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
To sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We are all meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay.
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know,
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
But when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.
